Refund policy

Last Modified:

Ursus themes are sold exclusively through the Shopify Theme Store. Shopify processes every purchase, which means Shopify handles refunds, not Ursus.

This page explains what that means for you, how to request a refund, and what to do in the situations that look like refunds but aren't.

Who handles refunds

Purchases made through the Shopify Theme Store are processed and governed by Shopify under Shopify's own terms.

  • Shopify - processes your payment, holds the billing record, and decides refund requests under their refund policy
  • Ursus - we don't process theme payments and can't issue refunds for them

We're not able to make an exception to this. It isn't a policy choice on our side; we simply don't hold the transaction.

How to request a refund

  1. Contact Shopify through the Shopify Help Center at https://help.shopify.com/.
  2. Have your store and theme details ready - the store the theme was purchased for, and the theme name.
  3. Shopify reviews the request under their refund policy and makes the decision.

If you're unsure whether your situation is a refund at all, read the two sections below first. One of them may apply instead.

Before you buy: use the trial

Shopify lets you install a paid theme on your store as a trial and customize it in the theme editor before you pay. You purchase the theme when you're ready to publish it, and the customizations you made during the trial carry over.

Used properly, the trial means you'll rarely end up in a refund situation at all:

  • Use your own content. Set the theme up with your real products, collections, and branding rather than judging it from the demo.
  • Check the templates that matter. Product pages, collection pages, cart, and anything central to how you sell.
  • Read the theme's documentation to confirm it does what you need.
  • Plan code work for after purchase. Theme code editing isn't available while a theme is on trial.

If something about a theme's built-in behavior isn't clear during the trial, submit a support ticket. We'd rather answer the question before you buy.

If you bought a theme for the wrong store

This usually isn't a refund situation. A theme licence covers the store where it was purchased, and moving it to a different store is a transfer rather than a return.

Shopify may refund your original purchase as part of that transfer process.

See our Theme License and Transfer page for what Shopify requires and how to start.

Customization work

Ursus doesn't sell customization, development, or design services, so there's nothing on our side to refund for that kind of work.

If you've engaged BearPlus or another developer, any payment or refund arrangement is governed by the terms you agreed with them directly.

Still not sure

If something about your purchase isn't covered here, submit a support ticket or email support@ursus-e.com. We can't process the refund, but we can tell you who to talk to and what they'll need.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if our themes are sold through different channels or if Shopify changes how purchases are handled. The "Last modified" date at the top shows when it was most recently revised.
